apparently that works with the n64 (not that I would import anything on that console.. none the less)
oh, and to add to that... the PAL snes will not play sfamicom titles even though the cases are identical (which is obvious... but figured I would mention it)

Just bust the tabs off eh? That's pretty clever. It reminds me of when I used to punch holes on the left edge of 5.25" disks to make them double-sided.
