  • I have mostly black models like (90%) with red trim. do you think a white shade might pop or something?

  • @deathknight51 I dont know if they make a white shade to be honest..... If not try a very light drybrush of a gray on the black areas.... that will make it pop.... or maybe some light wet blending on the raised parts (just the very top parts dont go hog wild less is more)

  • if you were to quick shade white like white scars what color of quick shade do you prefer and how much are these.. im not located in the states.. so that i have an idea if ever I ask a friend to buy for me..:) thanks a lot..:)

  • @socialimpetus they have 3 diff shades from soft to heavy... I would start off with soft and work your way up... you can also brush it on and not dip it for better control.. not sure how much it costs but the warstore dot com has it... it is by army painter you could prob google it and find a store locator that would have it close to you... if you need more help just let me know

  • Really Cool Booteg... I think I'll get some now! I Agree it does need the Mat Varnish... plus adds protection. I will get teh Dark Tone. But what have U found the other 2 shades useful for? The Strong to and light Tone I think they are...??

  • @cheech381 the light all I can think of would be doing faces maybe or multi coats and building up the shade maybe. the other you have to be careful that it isnt too dark for ur colors....but all in all it is good stuff

  • Impressive results from just a dip, but I'm trying to understand if there's any difference between this and just "washing" a mini?

  • Wtf

  • So its like a wash then?

  • Army painter says the light is for Lighter colored models and the Strong for darker painted models.. even says to use strong on Orcs

  • LOL chika rocks

  • @deathknight51

Depends on the miniature. If you havea red trim and some other bright/warm colours, then it might be an idea to higlight the black areas with a subtle blue-grey to create contrast between the light and dark areas, and to keep the balance between warm and cold colours on the model.

If you have other details that already have cold colours on them it might be an idea to do a more neutral grey highlight, maybe a hint of brown mixed in to keep the highlight from being too stark.

  • Hey Dale. Thank you for the demo. I've been toying with buying some army painter dips. More likely to give them a whirl now.
