It looks far simpler than Windows!

I have a fairly slow PC, will Ubuntu run ok on it? Is it faster or slower than Windows XP?

8:10, I could not even get modem to connect with the 'net; likewise printers etc. -- 9:4 connected to my router & 'net without even trying; printers still a prob; so I delayed & am waiting on 9:10, which will be end of this moth for download. - Reviews of the Beta version are good.

im going to try the newer 9.04 because for some reason this version i could not get the wireless working at all, hopefully it should just work with the new one.

Does the Ubuntu OS delete the trash like in Windows, where it can be recovered? Or does it permanently delete the trash beyond recovery?
