  • Cornish nationalism grew in the face of economic realities. That's what modern nationalism is based on.. A need for us to take control of our own Duchy, one of the very poorest regions in Europe. A dream in the mind of the Majority (55% - MORI 2003).

Your arguments are getting very thin.

You've been repeating the same crap with no valid retort for a long time. And what on earth does MK have to do with support for nationalism. Remember that the Lib Dems support an assembly too!

  • No-one in the debate agreed with the DNA=ethnicity stuff.

  • They ask what is it to be Cornish ? Well, the same as it is to be Scottish, Welsh, Irish. Freedom from Westminster for us all.

  • So If I want to be Chinese...all I have to do is say I'm Chinese and then...I am?

They have a really bizarre idea of nationality.

  • @RedPawl You forgot the English. We English also want freedom from Westminster, the occupied former English parliament.

  • @themightyrara your very naiive if u think love for your own country, nation or identity means hate towards another country-maybe your demosnstarting how your own identity relies on intolerance and a lack of undertsnding

  • @AnDonnNowydh *55% (MORI 2003)*

  • @themightyrara How absurd that you feel quailfied to speak for an entire nation on how they are supposed to identify themselves. Surely it's up to them. I'm afraid you obviously have little idea of th situation if you're unwilling to accept that there are reasons and justifications to why people feel this way. You can't really ignore 50,000 (MORI 2002) signatures asking for a Cornish assembly or 37,000 people identifying as a Cornish nationality in the last census despite no tick box.
