A short video of my Mamod SE3 twin cylinder stationary engine in steam. This engine is running slowly on the steam throttle to begin with and later speeded up somewhat further into this short video.
I am particularly proud of this engine having owned it for approximately one year now. When I first aquired this SE3 it wasn't a particularly efficient runner, often putting in a lazy and half hearted performance although there were no leaks to be found, the safety valve was always eager to release which didn't help !!.
In pursuit of a better steam run, I changed the seals on the whistle, safety valve and overflow, also changing the springs on the steam throttle and whistle assemblies but to no avail, still lazy !!!!. However ..................AFTER SWAPPING THE PISTONS OVER......................she now runs like a dream !!!! and the safety valve seems to co-ordinate better, more in keeping with a satisfactory run.
i brought one of them the other day 4 £30 but it was missing the chimley

@ziggybome £30 is a bargain, a chimney shouldn't be to hard to make.
