It was a teen game, so it didnt have blood. neither did any of the total war games before this so I didn't mind buying it. And remember when DLC was just called expansion packs? why weren't you all mad about it then? Arent those expansion packs content denied to you by the company because they wanted to make more money and add longevity to their product?

The blood in the japanese movie "Ran", now THATS over the top blood
-
@NearDark87 1/4 of the price goes to Steam. Do you think that they just put up games for free and let users use their servers for free when downloading and such? Yes it is a bad business idea but they had to do it.
And personally I think the blood effects are not overdone. I quite like the blood on the screen, am I the only guy who thinks the blood effects need to be more done? The screenshots have blood spurting out unrealistically.
You can just get a mod for the blood effects..

Worse than horse armor.

@CLICKMEYOULOSER It doesn't cost anything to put it on steam. You're still missing the point. I'm saying it's a bad business idea to put out a minor dlc for 2$ when you can buy the game for 12$. Also the blood effects are clearly over the top, blood splatter on the camera etc. They did this so they could justify a 2$ price tag.
Considering how poorly CA have treated their fan base lately it would have been a nice gesture to give this much wanted, small improvement for free.
-
@NearDark87 Over the top? They're slicing each other. What did you expect? Small paper cuts? The reason why it's 2 or 3 bucks is because of Steam. It costs money to put the game on Steam. (Unless your game is F2P, in which most cases, F2P games try to hook people in and make them buy the optional items and nicknacks)
2 Dollars isn't much, do you work at Mc'Donalds or something? Then I can understand.
-
@CLICKMEYOULOSER They could have made realistic blood instead of over the top, like the fans wanted. Besides even if realistic blood would have been given an R rating they could easily have charged a nominal fee like 50 cents or less.
CA keeps digging that hole. Sometimes the smart business move isn't to go for the quick buck. Patches are a testament to that.
The point I was trying to make previously is that I don't mind giving my hard earned money if it's for a good cause
-
@NearDark87 Jesus christ, didn't you read what I said or are you illiterate? The game then would have been rated R. I wish I was spoilt. I barely have enough money to pay for the home loans. You don't know how hard it is to make animations and such that look professional. People like you want a huge bang for the buck and play sell out games like Skyrim.
I hate giving money to homeless people. "God gives a bird it's food, but he doesn't put it in it's nest."
-
@CLICKMEYOULOSER I have no problem giving a homeless person 2 bucks but I don't wanna pay 2 bucks to get a tiny modification that should have been included in vanilla. Calling me greedy only shows have spoiled you are.

People here are missing the point. The reason why this isn't free is that if it was free, THE GAME WOULD BE RATED R. The game is currently rated PG. And who sells DLC for 20 cents? I bet you 3/4 of the profit goes to Steam. Shogun 2 is cheap anyway on Steam so stop bitching. If it were a console game it would be 120NZD, unlike on PC where it's 44NZD.
People here are fucking greedy fatasses. $2 bucks isn't much. Stop bitching. At least we got a gore pack. Something I wanted since M2TW.
Next... pay $2 to buy a new species of plant.
$2 to give samurais differnt coloured armour.
$2 and you get fluffier clouds.

do limbs actually come off with blood enabled or does it just paint the units red?
liberator48 1 month ago 8
@liberator48 They do, just like IRL.

Why do we have to pay for this? Shouldn't it be free considering it's a mod?

@LordVader89 But Lord Vader, we have millions of Imperial Credits in reserve!
