I loved that old clutch grab hockey, this is the flow of the game that I miss, plays would just explode out of thin air, momentum could propel a team to get buried quickly. From what I've seen and read looking back the WHA for better or worse was just a lot of fun. When I was 12, my Uncle gave me a book about the Jets that was published in the late 70's and I really took to understanding and appreciating the WHA and the Winnipeg Jets. I miss the Jets franchise, Houston had a good fanbase too.

Having been an Aero season ticket holder during their entire history, this game was one of my all time favorites. If only Kenneth Schnitzer hadn't folded the Aeros prior to the merger we could still be watching major league hockey in Houston. The excitement of those years is never to be forgotten.

When I think about it very reminiscent of T-Mac's 33 Points in 33 Seconds when the Rockets beat the Spurs in 2004.

@HerculesMays I don't think so this was in the regular season 1975-76

@assynipplechops Well now miss them no more....The Jets are back! Now only if we could get the WHA to return.

Great game ... great rivalry. Jerry Trupiano!

Actually, the Dallas Stars pulled that feat off against Boston in 1995, scoring three goals in the final minute winning 6-5. I would kill to see footage of that as I have not seen any video from the game since it happened.

I think this announcer reached the point of orgasm as he was making these calls.
They ran out of cash in 1978 -- one year prior to the WHA-NHL "merger"
