Hong Kong in the 60s - Winter Symphony (Beach Boys cover)

WIAIWYA invited us to contribute a song to its Christmas 2009 EP. We chose to record a version of "Winter Symphony" by The Beach Boys, one of our favourite groups.

We love the original, and were surprised to learn of its relative obscurity. It was recorded in the 1970s, but was unreleased until it appeared on the 1998 compilation "Beach Boys Ultimate Christmas".

All the footage in this video is taken from a super-8 home movie in the Prelinger Archives.

I was listening to the Ultimate Christmas album and I remember always loving this song and assuming it wasn't written by Brian or any of the Beach Boys and was already a classic.

When I found out it was written by Brian I was astonished.

So I looked the song up on youtube and found this. This cover is amazing! Very rare to find a cover so completely different from the original and still so great. You should be extremely proud.
