Hello! I'm Kristin Volk on this Wednesday, the 14 day of May 2008 with a today's news headline.
Senator Hillary Clinton is claiming victory in West Virginia after she crushed her opponent Senator Barack Obama there in yesterday's primary. The New York Senator scored well with blue-collar, working class, white voters -- a segment of the electorate that Obama has had trouble capturing. But Clinton's win may not be enough for her to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination. Obama has benefited from a steady stream of superdelegate endorsements since his win in North Carolina last week.
Authorities have arrested a suspect whom they believe is connected to those wildfires in Florida. Officials believe the fires were deliberately set because they say they started within hours of each other in separate locations. Many of the fires been contained, but they've consumed about 10 thousand acres and caused millions of dollars in damage.
President Bush received a warm welcome from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Bush arrived in Israel earlier today with the First Lady to celebrate the country's 60th anniversary and try to advance the Mideast peace process. It's the President's first stop on a five-day trip to the Middle East. He plans to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Egypt on Saturday.
It was a time of reflection and remembrance in the nation's capital last night as hundreds honored fallen law enforcement officers. Family, friends and colleagues gathered at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington to pay tribute to those killed in the line of duty last year. 358 officers from around the country were honored during a candlelight vigil.
Thanks for watching today's headline, and for all of us UPI, have a great day.

Vote for this liar:
"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong." ---Barack Obama, Dead people in the audience?
"I had a uncle [sic] who was one of the... who was part of the first American troops to go into Auschwitz and liberate the concentration camps." ---Barack Obama, whose uncle must have fought for Stalin's Red Army, the actual liberators of Auschwitz

Yeah, RP's ideas are great but his implementations would be financial disaster for us and the rest of the world.
