Surprisingly Kamal Hassan was nominated for both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for this role and he won The Best Actor Award for this very role I think that says it all about the Actor that he is..

well said bro!!!!! kamal hassan is seriously a gem in the film industry,and the ones who disagree pls watch this movie "Sagar"..... although it was just a supporting role, but i bet nobody acted as well as him,it just goes right through ur heart

This was the time whn Javed Akhtars Lyrics were magical........n whn u have such a great team which has great actors, Lyricist, Musician, Director........movie is bound to be a hit......I still remember initially I hated Kamal coz he was nt a Hindi hero, bt towards the end started liking him more than Rishi.......n 1 more hero for me in this movie was Lilliput......jess loved his performance :D

I'm surprised you got thumbs down for your comment. What you are saying is perfectly right. Kamal Hassan is one of the finest actors of India, but the Hindi film industry never fully utilised his immense talent.
