In 2009, did a Route 66 driving trip from Chicago to visit a very good friend living in Lake Havasu Arizona.

The route took me thru Joplin and I was SO IMPRESSED with the people I met there!! I got lost on a detour and was helped at a restaurant by the nicest young lady that sold me coffee to go and gave free directions! I also met a few people at a gas station that where so nice. You guys are GREAT!!!

I cried when I saw the reports on the Weather Channel. BEST WISHES to ALL in Joplin!!!

i lived at 1701 connecticut, and was in my house at the time it hit, which was at 5:43 when the closet i was in , the whole house started shaking bad, which i thought, thats not good, as soon as the ceiling started hittng my head i got out of the closet, went to my bathroom doorway hanging onto it, and thought iam gonna die,, all the while which was a minute at the most!! debris hitting me, the tornado took off my glasses, and my cell phone out of my hand then was hit by something

my church went to joplin 2 weeks fter the tornado and helped peoiple clean up they helped a young woman get a memory box out from a pile of rubble that used to be her house as i am very young and am not used to seeing this devastation in person i broke down and cried as we said a prayer with this lady

@chefjohn777 I know I was commented at forever ago but I still want to respond...I could say the same thing about all the religious bullshit I get thrown at me everyday! This disaster, nor any disaster, had anything to do with "god"! If everyone stopped believing in false gods we could all stop having religious wars, people would stop blowing themselves up for 72 virgins, and we could possibly have peace! There will never be world peace as long as there is religion!

i went day 3 and stayed for a while. im from spfld. i still can't comprehend the first images and the lives changed. it wasn't just a neighborhood it was the whole fuckin city. i can't imagine that happening to my home but i hope that all the amazing ppl that came would come to me. god bless those who survived and didn't forget to keep living!

i was knocked into the bedroom which the door had been closed before , if i would have stayed in that closet i would be dead, a gas furnace and hot water heater landed where i was, also my neighbors car landed in my kitchen,, only one wall left standing,,i can't believe i made it out, i still have dreams about getting away from tornaDOS
