Cranston School Committee Meeting January 18, 2012 Pre-Meeting Singing

In order to make sure that the atheists in the audience knew they were in the minority, a group of about 230 people engage in singing patriotic and religious songs, and even recited and sang the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary. This was a naked attempt to make outsiders and those with a minority opinion feel unwelcome. If the "prayer banner" is really about a historical artifact, why is all the religious language being used to defend it?

Thanks Steve, for uploading this. To me as a European, the recordings of the School Committee meetings seem like a time travel back into the early 19th century. I did honestly not know that this kind of religious ochlocracy still existed in a western society. It's really sad and somewhat frightening. I hope you and your family are well and find back to normal very soon.
