It does not delay from the tempo at all. It's just two separate patterns in two different time signatures. Polyrythms

Techniquement, c'est joli. Passer de 4-4-4-4 à 3-3-3-3-4 donne un semblant d'illusion, en effet, et c'est très bien réalisé ici, bravo pour ça. Pour le reste, l'expression "feraient croire qu'ils sont décalés du tempo" est abusive : ils sont dysrythmiques, et recollent à la fin. Se reporter à Meshuggah pour voir la même chose, en plus tordu...
