  • Damn sure is hard to believe that this was a #9 COUNTRY hit - it should have hit the pop charts instead!

  • I lover you ! I miss you.

  • When i was 12 years old i first heard the voice of John Denver. He told me that english for am german boy ist´nt hard to learn. It is sparkling as champagne and the words come together to make sence about the meaning of live. Now i am 47 but Johns Lyrics and music means the same to me. I love it.

  • I love this song, the voice, the sheer talent. Rest in peace John, you'll always be remembered. By the way, I don't know how, but this song reminds me of Winston and Julia's love for each other.

  • I was born from the same lump of clay as John Denver. He's alway soothing, always down to earth and always encouraging, rip.

  • @Amadeus1066 you are right but time life or some other mail order company sent them just about monthly and it was around 1985. haha a year later but if you see... my profile pic is of the 8track.

  • what an artist john was.country music has never been the same since his departure.sadly missed

  • @cingny1 I agree - I was just referring to his solo career - not his pop career with The First Edition.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Well, Kenny Rogers' early years are not country oriented: Kenny Rogers & The First Edition was pop and rock oriented. what I mentioned about kenny was a story heard from people in the country music industry. Nashville insiders are open-minded to Southerners^^ Austrailans and Coloradans are not very welcomed by them unless they reside in Nashville.

  • @cingny1 That, and a lot of Kenny's early music was more country oriented like "Lucille", and "The Gambler." Being from Texas probably didn't hurt him any either, and after his huge pop success with "Islands In The Stream", his songs started falling off with the pop audience after "This Woman" was a hit for him - I think one of Kenny's last pop hits was "Morning Desire", which didn't get out of the 90's on the pop chart for him about the same time this song came out.
