Navarro left NBA because his contract with F.C Barcelona,where there's a very big transfer clausule (about 4 or 5M euros).The year he moved to Memphis,he accorded with F.C Barcelona his exit by a price(about 1M or so),and Memphis,and every NBA teams,just are allowed to top pay 200k $ to europe teams for their players.So he had to pay BY HIMSELF the rest of the exit clausule,and Memphis just could offer him the rest of the salary cap remain(very few cash),so he really lost money in that year.

He's much better than the major part of american players in NBA, he may not be athletic but his talent fucking smashes them!! but this is not something new, he has been showing it since he started playing this game
By the way... I'm Spanish haha, congrats to macedonia for all the effort they have done, a lot of merit!!! I really wish they win the bronze medal
