Me trying to figure out proper bowing and fretting on my new Esraj. This instrument is a lot more challenging than I anticipated and I literally just picked it up. If there are any other players out there offering constructive criticism, by all means let me know. Enjoy. Peace
yeh!
sounds like beyond hindukush :-)
to add to wholegreaterthansun: Indians put the thumb up, next to index finger, otherwise, due to the thick neck it hempers the movement of the hand. keep on!

Pretty good for trying to just figure the instrument out... from the looks of things you are probably a cellist or violinist (maybe I am wrong)... anyway, you need to change your bow hold to an underhanded hold, second, you might need to re-position the frets, lastly, don't fret the strings, your fingers should hover above the frets but not make contact... All that being said, you sound 10000000 times better than I did when I started
