Here is a video of the Maoist Rebel News reading the text to a video I made. Regardless of what you think of MRN, what he says in this video is good because I wrote it. You can read the text version here:

  • Wow. Even got green military jackets. I'm quite impressed by the quality of this video, as much as I might be extremely anti-left in general.

  • it is unfortunate that right after maos death the first thing his succesors did was destroy his vision and turn the chinese government into ruthless capitalists.

  • Continued... He hoped that socialism would be successful because he was disgusted at the treatment of peasants and prisoners in Tibet. The Dalai Lama left because of an armed attempt to abduct him (most likely not under the will of Mao, like most things surrounding that period when Mao had little real power unlike earlier - it is also unlike that Mao would send armed abductors to an ally). Artillery surrounded government buildings - who would not arrange for retreat with the Indian government?

  • @jumpnjza2 The Dalai Lama actually had no power until some of the last days of his rule. The Regents were conservatives who opposed the Dalai Lama's Marxist ideas (yes, the Dalai Lama is a professed Marxist). In his last days (and first days) of rule, he offered amnesty to all legally bonded individuals in Tibet, at the dirge of the lords. The Dalai Lama was very appreciative of Mao, and you can read about this in his comments regarding him. He hoped that socialism would be successful in Tibet.

  • @RedNickD Thanks. Much is misunderstood about Mao and Chinese communist movement.

  • Slaves? In Tibet they were even worse off than slaves, they were serfs. At least slaves in the traditional sense could buy their own freedom. Good on the Chinese for overthrowing that fucking regime.
