http://www.pepperl-fuchs.us - Hydraulic clamping cylinders in a metal lathe regulate travel of the clamping chuck and clamping pressure on work pieces. In this application, an industrial metal lathe has a high rotary speed. Changes in the clamping hydraulic cylinder must be detected down to the micrometer. If there is a drop in pressure, The lathe shuts down and the work piece is disengaged. The rotating clamping cylinders are monitored by F90 inductive linear measurement sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs.
