"Godzilla has been missing from Japan since the release of the 2004 theatrical film Godzilla Final Wars. But now, the Big G is roaring back to life in a series of new promotional videos for Bandai's new S.H. MonsterArts action figures. Instead of the old man-in-a-suit special effects techniques of old, the new Godzilla S.H. MonsterArts figure (based on the 1994 design from Godzilla vs. Mecha Godzilla) itself takes center stage to emerge from the deep and menace Tokyo.

The short film -- hosted at Bandai TV -- ends on a white knuckle cliffhanger involving an old foe. Bandai plans on continuing the mini-saga by releasing a new chapter on the first of every month, leading to the world-wide release of the Godzilla S.H. MonsterArts figure in November.
The special effects for the spot have been supervised by Koichi Kawakita, SFX director of the Godzilla series from 1989 to 1995."

  • The worst Mecha Godzilla they've made... give us the Showa era version.

  • @botswanky In a way they already have, the Chogokin Showa Mechagodzilla.

  • @GIGAN05 That's very true, I own the GD-98 version and I'm happy with it. But a new improved version would also be nice I guess. How about Jet Jaguar then, that would be an instant buy for me, these first releases aren't doing it for me-with the exception of Space Godzilla that is. He looks awesome, plus, he's never really had a proper high quality release, as far as I know.

  • @botswanky Well I think they all look great since there the first super articulate Godzilla figures and as i have said to others, bandai have stated that if these do well then they will make more monsters.

They may even a hint Of King Ghidorah as a spokesman at the tamashii festival in japan said that theres "a conspicuous lack of the colour gold which needed to be remedied.'

  • godzilla is my favorite movies of all times cause i just love godzilla lets face it who doesnt like a monster that is a over sized lizard that shoots nuclear rays out of his mouth my second favorite is mothra and godzilla jr

  • I will love if they launch godzilla 2000

  • @botswanky stop complaining and enjoy life.. jeez

  • Am I the only one being reminded of Robot Chicken whilst watching this?

  • same with this one

  • I love Mechagodzilla 2 more than Kiryu. And I never liked the original. Above all, the design wasn't that terrific in my opinion.

Mecha 2 was one of a kind. It is sluggish in movement but funny at the same time, like a real mech. Kiryu is too agile to be treated as a mech.

Mecha 2 is the only one that human originally builds to be like Godzilla (for what? XD). The attention to detail is also funny. e.g. what's that tail for? what's that horn on the head for?

  • @botswanky

0_O you obviously mad, bro. I know that many pps grown with Showa movies but it's just ridiculous to hear.

  • @Loakum they are!!!! =D check my favorites. he looks awesome.

  • @GIGAN05 Kiry version would be cool.

  • badass!!!!!!
