Chandu the Magician is called upon to rescue scientist Robert Regent from the clutches of the evil, madman Roxor bent on enslaving the world. Roxor wants the scientist to perfect a death ray, as part of his plan to wipe out all resistance to his rule on earth. Roxor uses Regent's family as hostages in order to force his cooperation. Chandu has to rescue his own sister, niece and Princess-lover from Roxor's clutches.
Chandu studied with the master yogis of India, and has immense powers of hypnotism.
