Magnus 360 Organ
The Magnus Harmonica Corporation was founded in 1944 in Linden, New Jersey. Magnus sold and distributed children's harmonicas and Mechanical Reed Organs. In the 1950's, Magnus introduced Electric Reed Organs and continued producing harmonicas. In the 1960's, Magnus introduced their famous Electric Chord Organs to compete with Hammond. Sometime in the 1970's, the company's name was changed to Magnus Organ Corporation and they went out of business in the late 1970's. Not much else is known about the company, or what happened to them and their inventory, it has disappeared into time. These little organs can sometimes be found at yard sales and thrift stores for $15 and frequently on ebay for over $30. These are more of toys than instruments, but as a musician they are very fun to play and have a unique sound similar to an accordion.
