Rosana is a delightful and hard working nine year old. She has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. She is non-ambulatory and uses a power wheelchair. She can vocalize some vowel sounds and uses vocal inflection, but has no intelligible speech. Rosana uses a Vantage Lite to communicate her wants and needs. Rosana's mother says she has become "mucho contenta . . .very happy" since she started using her Vantage. Read her full Success Story at http://www.prentrom.com/success/rosana-cruz.

In this language lesson, Rosanna said "an" ham rather than "a" ham. Her AAC specialist used the opportunity to teach the use of the articles "a" and "an". Note how language-based the lesson is. Rosanna is learning language. This will enable her to use language to learn as she progresses through school.
