Certain parts of the sequence shown at E3 included a full heads up display, and crosshair, implying true interactive in-game footage. However, opinions are divided about the sequence, some suspect it to be pre-rendered, while others believe it was non-interactive using the game engine which would mean while it was indeed the PlayStation 3 hardware doing the rendering, it may or may not be indicative of the final gameplay experience. Despite this, it was seen as one of the genuine surprises at Sony's E3 2006 conference.
After E3 and between E3 2007, critics and gaming community noted that; what was shown may be possible, referencing "the Time Crisis series in third person view" as an example. Many have also pointed out that the Eight Days trailer might be a mixture of both gameplay footage and cinematics interlaced with one another to give Eight Days a type-of story at E3, unlike others which just show off footage. But it is still regarded as mystery, what is true until more information regarding the game comes to light.
A second trailer has been released, but has not been shown to the general public. It details a group of people buying guns in Colorado from a masked dealer. They then drive off, leaving the dealer with a pistol, which raises to his head. The screen goes black at that point, but it is most probable that the dealer committed suicide.
