@ForeverLost108 Yeah, Damon admits to Elena in a later episode that he didn't actually know that Jeremy was wearing the ring.
That is one of the reason's why, at this moment, Damon isn't good for Elena. When he doesn't get his own way he snaps and people get hurt.
