This the role Tom has always chosen, folk music ,the music of dissent and long may it continue.

one of the worst presidents besides LBJ

Now Tom, I can hear your dismay that there is no draft oozing out of your pores. Though some things don't change, two non-servers are President and Vice-President.

@TheWonderfulWombat I'm a Bush supporter and still love Tom Paxton's music. Now, where is Tom's song in response to Barack Obama's surge in Afghanistan?

For someone like Tom Paxton, the current war on terror must be just maddening.

A great ditty about a little, tiny, douche who ditched his own Nat'l. guard unit during Viet Nam War, just so he could change the home mission of the guard to one that allowed him to send the patriotic sons and daughters who were then enlisted, to pay for their schooling, healthcare, homes, etc., to Iraq to use up all the halliburton and other dynacrap that the boys wanted to shoot. Sos they could make and sell more. Screw him and Chimpy (another dodger who skipped out of the draft earlier.

@keyinreguluskaizoku of course Americans visited the moon, how else would I have sold them all them ere moon rocks, or are you calling me a con man?

Strange, considering this is an inherently political song.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

GW & his entire administration lied to the American people in order to invade Iraq. Amazes me how the mainstream news ignored this in some misguided attempt of support after 9/11. 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq. 15 of the terrorists were Saudi citizens (if they were Iranians we'd hear Iran attacks USA). The war in Iraq can never be won. We invaded a nation for no legit reason that didn't want US there. GW is a traitor who cost us trillions

This was a war of choice Saddam was placed into power & backed by the CIA for yrs then when poppa bush & regan backed stabbed him with Iran Contra then with Kuwait its no big mystery they ticked him off. However that being said you dont see us in darfur or ruwanda stopping the genocide there WHY? there is nothing there the oil industry wants. Also just for the record I have no problem with finding & killing Osama buts lets stop using him as an excuse to kill other who had nothing to do with 911
