Jack Bros. (VB) Gameplay

This is a response to the Angry Video Game Nerd's Virtual Boy Review. Unfortunately he was unable to show footage of the game so I thought I'd do it just so everyone could see what the game looks like. If you haven't seen his Virtual Boy Review, you can do so at:

Emulated play. The music in this video is from Medievil on PS1.

I left out the intro to the game because it's rather long and boring, I'll give a brief summary of it below. You can choose to play 1 of 3 Jack Brothers: Jack Frost, Jack Lantern or Jack Skeleton(a.k.a. Jack the Ripper). I'm playing Jack Skeleton in this video.

The story in a nutshell is: On Halloween, a portal opens up which bridges the Fairy World to the Human World so Jack leaves Fairy Land to go play with the human children. However, he ends up having too much fun and loses track of time. Anyone from Fairy Land that remains in the Human World after midnight will be banished forever. There is still a little bit of time left to return and a Pixie is willing to help Jack get back to Fairy Land before the stroke of midnight, though it will not be an easy task. The Pixie will be guiding Jack through a dangerous, rarely used shortcut to return to the Fairy World.

This game is hard to find and if you do it goes for alot. The AVGN was right this game isn't worth jack shit. Seriously a couple games on the virtual boy would've been better on the super nintendo or gameboy color.

True, I have to agree with that statement. If this was on SNES or something, theres a great chance I would of actually played it.

I believe the game could have been better off if it was on the Super Nintendo or on the Gameboy Advance. After all, there is nothing Virtual Reality about it anyway.

yeah, like the AVGN says, the Virtual Boy was junk. These games could have been made or currently remade for different systems and could of been awesome. But that didn't happen :(

I remember playing this on a VB emulator. This was pretty cool, but the audio emulation was shit and it raped my ears.

Unless you've played on the VB you all need to STFU, yeah sure, most of the games on the vb were total crap, but wario land and jack bros are pretty damn good(jack bros is one of my favs even today). It isn't virtual reality but the 3d is pretty cool and it makes the tops of the walls sorta stand up along with the characters head.

Ive had friends who have talked so much shit about the VB, but when they come over to my place and actually play one they always change there tune.
