How do young atheist families raise their children in a non-religious environment? What can a family do that wants to shield their naive kids from the evils of religious thought? Can we not just form a community of atheists?

  • Good comments so far. Maybe I should have been derogatory in my response... I might have gotten some crazy gibberish by now. :) Those are always fun to answer.

I donno. Maybe I have to post a whole lot more for my videos to attract a listing on the front web of this site. Anybody have a strategy yet? Or maybe the YouTube community just really likes dark grainy videos of teens talking about how bad their room smells.

  • atheist are heavily discriminated against by the religion who preach love and acceptance but only show hate and anger

  • To answer the title of your video: A child can be raised to think critically and to use rational thinking. And to apply both methods of thought to every aspect of their lives included religion, and the idea of gods. To raise children to be free thinkers is all raising a child under "atheism" means.

  • atheism is an ideology of NWO.

  • Ever heard of humanism?

I also did not get the part why atheists don't like charity...

  • Well said

  • im an atheist,i teach my children to use critical thinking and know the facts of science and our universe.i also teach my children to give all due respect other peoples religious beliefes and i explain to them why some people believe the way they do.of course we dont lie to them and tell them there are easter bunnies, santa clause or tooth fairys either.

  • Your voice is The Shit.

  • Most of the people who've left comments here fail to recognize that outside subjects introduce God and religion to the child, such as family and friends, or environment. My daughter is too young to have logic so my family is trying to take advantage of that. My mother told my daughter when she was FIVE that she could go to hell if she didn't obey God. We live in deeply religious texas also. My daughter wants to go to church and "believe" what her friends believe.

  • It's quite simple. Do what my parents did. First teach your children logic, proof and veracity, then tell them about religion. My parents were religious, but because I first learned logic, I never believed a word of what they said about their 'God'.

  • The rules of law and order is based on COMMON SENSE. On the question of charity, the MOST atheistic countries in the west is the ones giving MOST money to charity compared to the countries gross income. All the biggest philantropists are atheists like Bill gates and Warren Buffet etc. The ONLY common ground between atheists and their views is that they are ATHEISTS. They don' t have a common doctrine like religious people. They might have completely different views on everything else.

  • realise that raising someone not to believe something or to believe something is not what makes them keep believes it's a combination of natural genetics where someone tends to stick to a certain type of belief or change to another... as well as the environment and how often they will be accepted... by oneself as well...

but anyway nobody has any excuse not to believe in God because 2 or 3 years ago on the news object were floating around in church...

or it was just special effects..
