On the February 17th 1965 edition of the Patty Duke Show, C&J starred as downtrodden would-be British Invasion stars Nigel and Patrick. Patty gets them their big break and they repay her with a concert at her High School (as you do). The record that gave them their fictional big break is this track,
presumably featured to help shift copies of the duo's first LP. This was filmed prior to the episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show that aired a week earlier, and in which they perform songs from their then-in-recording second LP.

  • Did those days really exist ? It seems like a dream these days.....What fabulously innocent and joyous times they were....The music was the best and it never fails to uplift when I need a little boost....some of the best times of my life in the 60's...

  • This is one of my personal favorite Patty Duke Show episodes! I became a die-hard Chad and Jeremy fan after seeing this when I was younger. This song is also one of my favorite Chad and Jeremy songs. Thanks for introducing them to me Patty Lane! You Rock Girl!!

  • I agree with you SmithFrank, I was also kid in the 60's.

  • This show aired exactly one week after Chad and Jeremy made a similar appearance on The Dick Van Dyke Show as a British duo being hidden in Rob & Laura Petrie's house before their appearance on The Alan Brady Show.

  • Thanks for your thoughts....Chad & Jeremy have always been one of my favorites from that first wave of British artists to land on our shores in '64......I'm lucky enough to be a docent at the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" and it's always a joy to see the love people have for this era and the great music it produced ....Happy New Year and let the music the play.............

  • @SMITHFRANK - just stumbled onto this clip of Chad & Jeremy on The Patty Duke Show. Yes, those days really did occur. . . does seem like just an illusion watching television these days, doesn't it? Oh, well. We do have the memories and, thank goodness, the films. Best Wishes To You.

  • And this was a couple of years before Catwoman purrrr-loined their voices.

  • I was just thinking this week of going to school and comparing notes with all the other girls on the premiere episode of the Patty Duke Show. We loved it! This episode was fabulous. Didn't they have such pleasant voices?

  • Oh, I used to watch the Patty Duke show..that little brat of a brother..ugh..

    thanks for the post, lovely!

  • Patty Duke show was great. Such a shame we have no good comedy tv shows in this day and age. Nothing sweet funny, Just violence and smut!

  • I even bought the album on Capitol.
