Update: I finally installed the IXP-34-12 and IXP-24-8 versions of the fan instead of the one shown not-so-successfully in this video. I can definitely recommend the 12 dB fan. The 8 dB is even better, but has a very low CFM rating that makes me very hesitant to actually recommend it when the 12 is *practically* just as good silence-wise.

For the most part, the original fan works fine. However, I sleep in the same room as my Axe-Fx and for anyone who's used to a completely silent studio, the noise can get to you. So I, as others have, replaced mine. Here's me turning it on and witnessing the results for the first time after the replacement.

Since I have two Axe-Fxes, you can hear the comparison of a new fan, and the original fan directly.
This is recorded on a Canon SD750 compact digital camera.
The replacement fan is a SilenX iXtrema 60mm fan rated at 16 dBA and 18 cfm. SKU IXP-34-16.
