Heres a shot of northbound CSX Q614 making their way through Auburn on a rather cloudy Thursday afternoon.

Take note at around 0:10 into the video and youll notice the crossing activates before the Suburban begins to pass through the crossing. After becoming caught in the stopped traffic from the red light in front of it, they ended up having to pop the curb in order to allow the SUV to clear the crossing. Darwin tried on this one but they luckily dodged the bullet. This crossing it notorious to this happening and I fear that one day Ill be witness to something much worse than what happened on this day.

Enjoy!

  • Now I bet your getting annoyed at me commenting. Well, Union Pacific? All of the good stuff came through when I wasn't there. Sigh.

  • Actually UP units are fairly common on run through trains these days. There are at least 2 that will almost always have UP units (stack trains, Q144- 145) and several of the standard freights have them too.

When were you down this direction?

  • Q614 comes through Waxhaw where I raifan and I see it quite often but I have yet (no joke) to see any foreign power on Q614 and get it on video. I saw an all UP lashup on a SB train and a NB train in Waxhaw but I didn't get the I.D.'s and only one was moving.

  • That's right, I forgot you got some of the same trains that come through my terrotory.

614 is definatly a regular all CSX consist but I have seen a bit more mixing up in the last few months. 614 is definatly the common train for me here lately. Its timing has become quite regular and usually is always within radio earshot within an hour of me getting off work. Hence why you see it on so many of my videos here lately.

  • Nice horn show

  • Nice power, especially the SD40-2.

  • They were lucky! Two people have been killed at crossings here in NC recently.

  • Crossings like that need to be wired up with the traffic lights. Let's hope that happens before someone gets killed.

  • Awesome catch Greg.

  • Sweet!

  • Nice catch Greg
