EQ is for smart adults WOW is for little kids.

EQ is much harder and doesnt have the whole gay japanese anime look that little kids DESIRE.

I played both and i have no clue how kids can play wow for longer then a day it is horrible.

EverQuest is so much fucking better. World of Warcraft is going down the drain. So have fun when Warcraft gets shut down, you know it's going to happen.

There are still alot of free everquest servers up. It's still an awesome game. The lore everquest had is unmatched by any other mmo.

@maegyssa Those same types of folks can be found within the world of Everquest. When sony released the most recent server, you were able to witness those folks first hand, outside of the trade/gen channel even. I enjoy the company of people in EQ more than WoW though. Not certain as to why really.

@spiritse The 100K thing had to have been in 2003 or so because I remember logging on to be a part of it, but I wasn't playing EQ in 2004. I don't think Sony/Verant/EQ was the initator of the request...I think it was a board posting from a member that went viral.
