Final Fantasy VII PC version - Still More Fighting XG

While FF7 on PC had a midi soundtrack as opposed to the PSF like soundtrack on the PSX Version. FF7 had a Midi synth called Yamaha XG.
I personally Prefer this version over the original Still More Fighting because I can hear more instruments and I think it sounds alot cooler.

The PC version you can probably buy off ebay but it might be costly, I remember I got mine at the store before they stopped producing them.

Yeah the Yamaha XG Synth makes this sound ALOT nicer. :D

The PC version was actually the first time I ever played FF7 (I was too young when it was on playstation, apparently) And I picked it up for £1 from a garage sale -- clearly the seller didn't know its true value ;) I ended up playing the PS version through to completion but I agree that this particular track especially sounds better in midi form.

PC version was the first one I played, when I first played the PS1 version, I was thoughorly impressed about the quality differance. (then again, the computer I played it on had a crappy soundfont)

@DarkShadowRage2 Nothing about DOS wouldn't allow a computer to do something,or do it as well, in theory, with the fact that DOS gives software more control over hardware than modern OSes, it could do more.

Dos would .. and in fact had. If you had a SoundBlaser + XG Daugtherbord or an external Midis Module.

Does anybody know how to get Yamaha S-YXG50 working under Windows 7? I'm just looking to use it for playing midis in general, not for actually running it in Final Fantasy VII PC.
