Episode 1 of the 1967 BBC series The Forsyte Saga, based on John Galsworthy's novels, featuring Kenneth More as Jo and Eric Porter as Soames.

Jolyon "Jo" Forsyte has fallen in love with his daughter June's Austrian governess, Helene, and plans to leave his wife Frances for her, creating a huge scandal. Meanwhile, his cousin Winifred Forsyte marries the dashing young Montague Dartie, in an event which brings together the Forsyte clan.

  • Thank you Yosituna for posting this! I saw the original series in 1967 and was glued to the box for every episode! Please, could you post the rest, or at least Episode 2 to start with?? As you see from all the comments, lots of people would be so happy to watch the entire series again!

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I was a boy when the series was broadcast and loved it. It is sheer, searing nostalgia to see it again! I especially loved hearing the music at the end of the episode. Brought back such memories of home and life back then.
