I don't think that the Soviet Union was quite the socialist paradise its leadership still claimed to be after its early years. Certainly it wasn't by Lenin's definition. Nobody denies that there were repressions and then even more problems later. However, it was, by any definition, a bastion against the otherwise unrivaled worldwide hegemony of capitalism and Western imperialism.

So, on viewing one of the American propaganda videos from the '50s, I decided to cut some pieces from it, set them to patriotic wartime Soviet music, and reassemble them in a more socialist-realist form.

  • There is nothing wrong with collective ownership (libertarian socialism) per se. The problem is when people endorse totalitarianism and all powerful states to accomplish their political preferences; which history seems to demonstrate as an inevitable result of this worldview.

It is truly unfortunate to see how few "socialists" truly respect individual choice and sovereignty. Those who do are the only respectable opponents of the free enterprise system.

  • You're definitely right in the context of today. A lot of the challenges states face today can be met or at least reduced through encouraging local cultural development and autonomy. And there's no problem with democracy, so long as the majority of the population is in agreement, real democracy in that situation means greater stability. Politicians who've never been in the public eye are rightfully paranoid of it, though.

You have to understand that things were different 80 years ago, however.

  • You see, you ignorant anti-communists are to negative It's ONLY been 60 million by Stalin, 65 million by Mao, 10 million by Ho Chi Mihn, 20 million by Pol Pot, 5-10 million by Kim jung ill, 1.5 million by Fidel Castro.

Heck lets give it another try!

  • There's a problem with those numbers. They sound like something Yushchenko's government in Ukraine printed after a row over gas with Russia.

I don't deny that there have been murderous governments that fly red flags, the worst example being the Khmer Rouge. But there have been many, many more anticommunist murderers. Simple nationalists with less respect for their people as individuals than communists, and even pro-Western moderates professing the same ideology as America.

  • Listen Sir, i get my information from NEUTRAL historians unlike yourself. Comunism has killed more people than any other system on this earth and you know that. Nationalistic and Fachist countries have killed millions too, but communism beats them too it. Oh, and unlike yourself i have proof and documentation, where is yours? Communist writings don't count.

  • How can I make an argument if Communist writings don't count? It is impossible to know how many people were killed by Communist governments in that case, because the only ones who kept statistics were Communists!

In terms of actual numbers of political deaths, fascism is still the greatest murderer thanks to your friend Adolf Hitler. There's no question here. In terms of numbers of different murderous governments, western aligned governments have it, simply because they are the most common.

  • Why is this not being flagged as offensive?, The Soviet Union killed MILLIONS more than Nazi Germany ever did?

  • It's easy to praise communism by looking at just the theory itself. Because communism is ideal in theory, but it is impossible in practice. Any country that has ever adopted communist policies has ended up with dying, starving, scared people, and the reason for that is that human nature prevents any leader from opting power to the people. the other problem is that people on youtube don't understand that if they lived in a communist country, they would be killed for expressing their opinions.

  • @Thunk00 But still, How can we dismissed a single Ideology for the acts of its so called followers? With all the focus of Stalin cruelty, had anyone considered if Trotsky was the leader? Trotstky could have been better choice for Communism. By the way, i've been to Hanoi, Vietnam. Sure, it is such a bitch to get into Facebook but hey, prices are cheap there. I love shopping and dining in Vietnam.

  • @derekmanzano can i see that proof and documentation.cause ive been trying to see those evidences for a long time but unfortunately no luck

  • Search for "The Red Scare"

  • @Mezzo396 Yes, but you'r comment made it sound like it where Communism's fault he ended up in power.

Fear of the communism started and spread by whom??

So when you say because of communism Hitler ended up in power, then you gotta go further back and look at who started the fear against Communism.

  • @Fredrikfez How? One of the main reasons Hitler was able to get into power was due to the fear people had of a communist revolution. Hitler promised he would protect them from communism, its not that funny.

  • @Mezzo396 LOLZ!!!

    Haha, I had to laugh.

That is the most stupid comment I have ever read!

  • @Fredrikfez If it wasnt for communism, Hitler would have probably not ended up in power.

  • i agree with you man 100%

fuck america for not having communism and comunism is the best thing ever that karl marx came up with
