  • Jo Ann was a real nice lady while I was the roadie for the band from 79-81. I couldn't get her singing out of my head so I sang this to my kids.

  • @musicom67 Ya, the bass sounds like a Casio. Too bad, what an incredible band and singer.

  • Would I be out of line to say I just don't enjoy hearing Electric Bass in a Big Band. There's just SOMETHING about an Acoustic (stand-up) Bass that is so missing in this otherwise great sounding band....

  • Greer starred in the 1991 cabaret show "Voices," in which she performed live versions of "The Heat is On" and "Blue Pacific Blues" from "Miss Sadie Thompson," and "Zip" and "Bewitched" from "Pal Joey," all of which she had dubbed for Rita Hayworth.

  • Les Brown played at Davidson College while I was there in the late fifties. I have always liked Jo Ann Greer's voice, and I asked her to sing some of the songs she dubbed for Rita Hayworth in "Miss Sadie Thompson". Alas, she couldn't legally sing them for a number of years after the movie was released.

  • Can't believe that I can watch the wonderful singer Jo Ann Greer! I hope someday there will be a CD with all of her work. She was a most underrated singing sensation!

    Thanks so much for posting,

    Thomas from Germany
