i want to build a loco similar to this one for 7.5 inch gauge track. does anyone know where i might find an afortable kit

Have you asked Maxitrak? Their catalogue indicated that they might bring out a larger version.

For the moment it is likely to remain a temporary straight line up and down the garden. I am wondering whether I can fit in an oval without completely destroying the look of the garden.
Very nice, but you seem to have an inappropriate green polo shirt on!! It's 5 inch, not 16mm!! :D

I needed a dark enough shirt so the steam oil and soot smuts would not show!
They can sure take a load.

Great stuff man! I've got a 3/4" scale LBSC Ivatt Atlantic Maisie, it would be fun to lay some track down here for it to test on etc
