Not true.
I rarely hit drive serves when I play, and I was worlds #1 player in 2003 and am currently ranked #4.
If the serve is hit correctly, it is difficult to cut off at the pro level. It will work well at the Elite level and below without question.

If u drop the ball b4 the encroachment line, it's hard to pass on the short hop.
