Now Explosion was waaaaay better than MTV. A lot more artistic with a better natural feel for the music. The world would be a better place if this took off, evolved and developed rather than MTV.
Some people have forgotten the name of this show, but I have met alot of people who remember it. "The Now Explosion" was one of my favorite shows at that time ! "The Now Explosion" was way ahead of it's time. This show was fantastic. I still remember some of the videos ! They should put this show in a DVD collection ! They should have a televised reunion party of all the staff and dancers. Perhaps the dancers could perform at the half time show of The Super Bowl. That would be great !
damn i lost track of skinny bobby when he left wsai in cincy. used to listen to him as a teen and I NEVER forgot him. loved him he was great. was a sad day when he left.
I remember being in elementary school at the time in St. Louis, and either the Oakville Jr. or Sr. high band came over and played the theme song to The Now Explosion as part of their little concert for us. We all loved it because the show was something we all watched. Thanks for posting these interviews! I was worried that The Now Explosion had been long forgotten!
I wish I could see this show again. I watched it on Saturdays when it was shown twice on WPIX in NY. Some songs I remember from it are Reflections of My Life,The Love You Save, Lay a Little Lovin on Me, Gimme Dat Ding...so many more.
I remember the Theme Song was "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. While the song played, there was a close up shot of bare feet on a beach keeping beat with the music.
DJ DennyRay. Not only Skinny Bobby Harper ...but WKRP was largely modeled
on the exploits of the crew at WQXI . Does anyone remember the episode when live turkeys were dropped from a helicopter for a Thanksgiving promo? That was a brainstorm of Gerald Blum who was the

Every Saturday all of the kids in the
neighborhood would gather at my
house ,because we had the biggest
color TV set on the street, and we used
to dance our little butts off. We so LOVED
this show!! We watched this on WPIX
in New York City. Just Awesome!! :)
