The question is not about wanting to live or not wanting to suffer, the question is about coercion. Veganism is the only moral position because all forms of coercion against life are illegitimate.

One of the most interesting articles I've read in recent times on the animal issue is "Moral vegetarianism from a Very Broad Basis", from David DeGrazia. I hope this can be an interesting source for anyone that is looking for different views on animal ethics.

Very interesting. But, as a vegan, I can't understand how Francione can prove that animals have an interest in continuing to live? I personally disagree with killing animals for other reason. I think when we kill animals we are preventing a good life (a life with pleasant experiences - of course this is not the case of factory farm) to continue. Anyway, thank you very much for posting this with subtitles. From a vegan from Brazil.
