A lot more people are going to have to live a lot closer to where they work everyday to solve this problem. And a lot more products that people consume everyday are going to have to produce closer to where they are consumed. My suggestion for a solution: every month increase the tax on every gallon of fossil fuel sold by 10 cents and use the extra tax revenue to pay off the national debt.

I gave up having a car twenty years ago and haven't wanted one since. I love my bicycle. And I moved a few months ago so I was within walking distance to my work. If I change jobs in the future I'll do that again.
