When SA discusses the fact that the current terrorist threat against the U.S. is solely caused by America's interventionist foreign policy, it is always said that Jack Hunter is naive and wrong - and that terrorists simply hate America's "freedom." SA replies.
They hate the fact that we have 1000 flavors of ice cream.

Interesting commentary, not sure I agree with you on the 'dangers' of Islam, but well said in any case.

Well-said! The facts are becoming more mainstream as time goes on...soon there will be no traction for this sort of thing...that is, if the dollar doesn't collapse first...

If you are not denying that religious fundamentalism is in direct opposition to the virtues of liberal individualism, you are still begging the questions of what banner the redneck southern carolinians in your counterfactual history would unite under? You reduce Islam to a question of geography. Would the answer then be deportation or prohibition of freedom of movement in a segregating quest to combat "multiculturalism" as domestic counterpart to foreign non-interventionism?

You can debate the origins of their hate or distrust all you want... the fact is, occupation and pre-emptive attacks is not the answer to dispel it or prevent it from touching our shores in violent ways. Anyone that believes that is a plain idiot.

@bigboss686 I know you get the idea from some people we're attacking countries like Canada because we can, and we're evil imperialists. Wait aren't we fighting intolerant people who wish to spread their freedom stealing faith around the world? Our foreign policy isn't an issue. You could give them billions in aid and still want to kill us all.

@Scotty7617 truly you are a man who produced the pot calling the kettle black equation true

@NJburbsSeeker You're welcome, I am not for parading all across the globe but I'm certainly not going to operate under the silly assumptions libertarians try to infer on our foreign policy. As I stated earlier, the vast majority of people in Muslim countries are Illiterate, yet we are to believe they are more geopolitically sophisticated than the entirety of America? RIDICULOUS. libertarian scoff at the "they hate our freedom" argument, but it's a valid argument for a number of reasons

@bigboss686 Thank you for the support boss. The simple fact is they might not be "all that bad," but they believe in an ideology that is completely opposed to ours. They see us as the enemy because of what our ancestors might have done in the crusades, and their leaders are manipulating a faith to hang on to power. You might not like America's foreign policy, but it is just the tip of the ice burg. Appeasing won't work with them.
