No word of a lie: Ms Mirza taught me GCSE Science at Bishop Douglass RC High School, East Finchley. In the middle of explaining the carbon cycle, I told her I'd seen her on the telly and she denied it at first. But sure enough, a few minutes later, she sidled up and asked me, "So, what have you seen me on?"

Very likeable, which is half the battle. Would be nice to see more of her on TV. It seems to be the same old faces (mostly men) over again.
-
I know her mother, I went to a Urdu class she used to teach XD Lol.

no matter how much i try to enjoy her jokes i just dont find her funny..however good on her for getting famous

People talk about her breaking down boundries and taking risks and putting Muslim women on the map. The problem is though is that she simply is not funny, not funny at all. Her material is thin and poor at best. The fact is, that while people say she is bringing muslim women into the open, she herself would not have got anywhere in her career had she not been an openly muslim stand up. Because, and I reiterate, she is truly awful as an act. Not one amusing joke. ever
-
no its not the truth she shows but she plays with muslim stereotype and says sarcastic things, in one joke she says how she will be in an arranged marriage but her bio says her parents are against arranged marriage
-
I stopped watching Last Comic Standing when she was eliminated, because she was my favorite and I realized the show was not treating everyone fairly.

she,s really good. she makes it seem so effortless.

I had the pleasure of meeting her in Bristol where she held a comedy workshop and criticised our jokes; mine included

=D Shaz u are the greatest comedian =D
Shazia Mirza is an underrated comedienne with a nice, understated style and dry delivery. Her material, from the anglicised Muslim women's perspective, is intruiging and she's not afraid to tell the truth, which is important for genuine comedy. So, while it's great that she still does stand-up at pubs like The Lion in Stoke Newington Church Street, she deserves a much bigger audience and I wish her the very best of luck.
PS It doesn't hurt that she's good-looking as well as intelligent ;-)
