  • that backplate does not help for cooling man it keeps hot air insidde thus holding temps up :((

  • lol no, the backplate allows the heat to be spread, thus removing it from one central area.

  • @Zillerz3 so is the gtx 470 worth upgradeing that far? i know it is a new chip and they have it for $279 at newegg but i guess what im asking is would you rather get this new card or perhaps recommend dual sli with 9800gtx or doing two 260's? and i already have two 9800gtx's and one older 9800gtx. im going to try out the dual 9800gtx when i get the new crosshair 4 Extreme.

  • subbed,

i got the GTX 470 by EVGA

used the step-up. went from 9800GTX+ to GTX470

when i was at the post center to send out my graphics card i forgot to add protection to the box!! i wasl ike oh shit when i found out when i got home. hopefully it didnt arrive damaged i really wish that it didn't.

  • that thing is beautiful.

  • Actually on the 65nm GTX 200's cards, the backplate is used to cool the vRAM on the backside of the GPU.

  • ooo u just told him! =)
