The fleet Hornets and Rhinos heading back to the hot ramp after their airpower demo at NAS Oceana 2007. These pilots have great jobs and they know it! Check out the JHMCS helmets at 0:16 and 0:38. It overlays targeting information onto the inside of the visor, similar to the system used on the Apache, but much more advanced.

  • I am the one Jolly Roger 106's pilot pointed to at 0:14. Hey SemperApollo, if you can remember a guy wearing a black Felix Rules shirt and Tomcatter hat, that was me. ;) We must have been standing 3-4 people lengths away. ;)

  • I had on a VFA-34 "Have Gun Will Travel" shirt and a tan hat. You're probably in some of the footage if I look hard enough.

  • The Super Hornet is awesome, but it's just weird to see the Bombcat insignia on its fin.

  • People said the same thing when the Phantom was phased out and the Tomcat was the new jet on the block. If you want to see colorful aircraft, look at some of the Vietnam era CAG F-4s. Especially VF-51 and VF-111.

  • Did I see a Captain Halley Comet at 1:11?

  • JHMCS!

  • CHAMPIONS AT WORK!!!!

  • I live there and I could go for the past 2 years because of the NAscar race at richmond. We would come back on sunday and park on oceana Blvd and watch them. Now that they moved it so it dose not efect the race, im happy.

  • Aww hell, I shouldve read the "about this video" before I asked if this was an airshow or not!! Sorry!

  • Hey Semper, was that footage part of an airshow, or were they coming ashore from their carriers? BTW, I thought it was cool to see the pilots names and their callsigns, lol, that ones callsign was limp!! Can you imagine the razz he would get from his fellow pilots?!

  • I wonder how the last pilot in the video got his call sign...

  • Actually it was 1995 when VF-84 was disastablished and VF-103 Sluggers picked up the heritage in 1996. I never said that VF-103 didnt fly the Tomcat with the Jolly Rogers logos on it. Just trying to explain how they changed. You will have to excuse Viper, he is just a little boy.
