Down at the Sea-side!

Finally a day with a good southerly wind and a dry airmass instead of the usual grot associated with this wind direction. 5 DSGC gliders braved the rough aero-tows down to the Sidmouth cliffs, where fun was had on an epic scale. The walkers on the cliff tops seemed to enjoy the show and hopefully a few might risk a trip to our club to try gliding themselves.
There was even wave off the cliffs which allowed all of us to climb high enough to easily glide back home. A fantastic days flying!

Do you do tandem flights - I would lovw to have a go in one over the cliffs - then I would know what my model gliders feel like ! - And who do you contact and what are the costs ?

@brammers1 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I have 2 Contour HD's for the wing and tail, and have borrowed a GoPro which is great for cockpit shots.

Do you change your wing camber when you fly cliff soaring?

I noticed in this video that you flew with your wing flaps are set to upper position

If so,does it work well?

Wow, just watched this and was fascinated the whole way through. We often go on holiday to Beer and Sidmouth so know that area really well, though I've never seen it from quite that angle before :) I last flew a glider about 10 years ago jus,t after going solo, when my first child and a new house took most of my spare money. I really would like to get back into it, but I'll probably stick to thermal gliding for now. That really did look quite close in places ;). Thanks for the Vdeo, Epic :)
