A litter of zorro cubs -- foxes found only in South America -- and the guanaco, a relative of the llama, are some of the exotic creatures featured in the NATURE premiere of "Andes: The Dragon's Back." "Andes: The Dragon's Back" airs on PBS Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 8pm (check local listings) and is part of the 28th season of the Peabody and Emmy award-winning series produced by Thirteen in association with WNET.ORG for PBS. Major support provided by Canon U.S.A. Inc. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/andes-the-dragons-back/introduction/1...
At the end of this preview: "In victory, a guanaco smile", the narrator says. Incorrect. The body posture (sideways to the retreating fox), the gesture of the head (muzzle up, ears back, mouth showing tension), and the vocalization all indicate that the guanaco was warning the fox not to return.
Am grateful for the nature programs, but sad when the animal behavior is misinterpreted by the 'experts'.

Yeah grazers! Represent.
I have a pair of foxfur earmuffs. I bet that guanaco would smile about that.
