Here's a video demo of my 1977 MESA/Boogie Mark I 15" combo amplifier. My last video of this amplifier dealt mainly on the range of tones available using just a guitar and the amp - this one explores the amp's versatility when using pedals.

Hopefully this video demonstrates how wide a spectrum of tones you can get using just a couple of basic pedals with this amp. None of the amplifier settings were changed between any of the clips, the graphic EQ is disabled throughout, and the amp is on the 100W setting.

I use the following gear in this video:

- 1977 MESA/Boogie Mark I 15"
- Fender Telecaster
- Electro-Harmonix EH-4800 Small Stone phase shifter
- Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi
- BOSS DD-3 Digital Delay
- Dunlop Cry Baby Wah

None of the audio is processed, and all recordings were made using an AKG C1000S microphone.

  • LOVE that opening riff man, what is it ? kind of nice vibrato going on as well eh,

  • i SAW A FENDER HAND WIRED AMP FROM THE LATE 70S THE OTHER DAY, IT HAD THE SAME TYPE OF EQ SLIDERS AS THIS AMP, IS THIS A VINTAGE AS WELL, THE FENDER WAS a 140 in tweed, proper nice tone, it was designed by a famous rockstar in the 70s, best amp I have heard in years, trouble is people did not know a lot about it, and not a lot of info online, but it was a killer amp, it had that old sound that reissues just don't seem to get

  • bet that sounds great live, shame the mic was clipping a bit at the start of the metal riff

  • if you destoy a tone please dont take a mesa boogie there are so many amps, you can do it with
