Nice vid. What exactly do the drone strings do. Are they simple tuned to certain notes and then plucked etc?

You can tune it however you want, he is in some kind of open tuning but it is arranged like a normal 6 string guitar so you can just tune it normal and it will just be a guitar that sounds like a sitar

Wonderful stuff, props to the player!
To be balanced... nothing beats traditional East Indian Sitar. On one side of the coin, this can be considered "derivative" as some listeners are pointing out. However, it's fresh, and different. Sure, there are no microtones as in traditional Sitar music, but don't take away the performance nor the composition of this cut.
