How could anybody with any knowledge of Illustrator and photo-shop but photo-shop ahead of illustrator when it comes to graphics. Its totally baffling. Photoshop is for pictures where as Illustrator if dealing with victor graphics.
Photoshop is a raster or bitmap based graphic editing/creation program.where as Illustrator is a vector based editing/creation program. In layman terms it’s for creating clean shapes and designs for example; logo design.

I love the adobe creative suite! I am a graphic designer, and I am still in undergrad. Over the past two years I have used illustrator way more than Photoshop. But it also depends on the type of work you do as a designer. I work on more logos, illustration, and typography. Photoshop will always be the top overall program though! But, if you are interested in vector work, illustrator is it!

MS paint haha!! Woohoo for photoshop! I'd say Illustrator also..

I use Photoshop and i made my Youtube Background in it. it is a very good program
For designing for websites and youtube photoshop isn't a bad choice as it's based on screen and they're unlikely to need be scaled. But to say that photoshop is the king of design is just odd. A vector program like illustrator is infinitely better for logos etc. What happens when you want to place your photoshop created logo on a billboard or something. Scale it and its gonna pixelate. Also photoshop is bad for anything with a large amount of type and really shouldn't be used for print work.

@Youngy365 "Also photoshop is bad for anything with a large amount of type and really shouldn't be used for print work."
That's not true. It entirely depends on the project you're working on. For magazine spreads and layouts, yes, InDesign is the way to go. But to say Photoshop shouldn't be used for any kind of print work is false.
