http://bit.ly/opWcy6 Human skull animation that yaws, rolls, and explodes into individual bones, which are labeled. The skull (OUVC 10503) was CT scanned at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. Ryan Ridgely segmented all of the bones in Amira and generated the movies in QuickTime. Jason Bourke did the labeling. QuickTime movies and 3D PDFs of this and similar animations are available at: http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/dbms-witmer/3D_human.htm Also, check out http://www.facebook.com/witmerlab

  • what is that marking on the forehead at 1:31 ?

  • @JAMES18005 The concentric ovals you note are an artifact of the CT scanning and image processing. It's not an anatomical feature or a pathology.
